Ribbing using Slip Stitch Crochet

Examples of slip-stitch ribbing used as waistbands for vests and wristbands for mittens. In all of the following, the basic pattern is to slip stitch in the back loop only, turn and repeat. I did not chain 1 at the end of each row. Finding the right place to insert your hook at the beginning of each row can be tricky but is important to the appearance and functionality of the ribbing. This produces an extremely stretchy fabric that also bounces back--exactly what one needs for a waist- or wristband.
